Hello! Thanks for stopping by this site. This website is dedicated to those of us who are ham radio operators and regularly talk on 146.520 Mhz in and around the Silicon Valley in California. There's a fairly large group of us that talk on, "520" and keep it active. We recognize the fact that 146.520 Mhz is the, "National Simplex Calling Frequency" according to the ARRL bandplan. However, this area is one of the few areas in the country where you can actually find somebody on, "520" if you throw out a call. Based on feedback we've recieved and discussions we've had, most hams think it's a good thing that we keep it active. There's almost always someone listening to the frequency and we're usually very willing to give signal reports, help travelers with directions, or have a friendly QSO.

Simplex can be a lot of fun, and if you haven't done much of it, give it a try!
